What am i reading? Introduction to Windows Server 2012

675353.inddI got notification (like many im sure) that my Windows 2003 certifications will be phased out this year. Having skipped the 2008 track until now, i decided to get off my ass and do some studying. I haven’t done an exam since the Windows 7 beta’s in 2009, so im looking forward to hitting the books again.

Im planning to take 70-410 –  Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 first, and then move on through the new MCSA/E track.

So, what am i using for study material? Well so far i am making my way through this, Introducing Windows Server 2012 which is available as a free eBook if you want to grab a copy.

Im only 2 chapters in, but already it has been a great starting point giving an overview on some theoretical changes in how WS2012 has been designed, with a focus on things like Virtualisation and Dynamic Storage. Im determined not to use an meteorological related buzz words, but it also covers one of those in great detail and the shift to a hybrid infrastructure.

if you are planning to do any study, or looking for a high level overview on what’s new, and why its new in 2012 – then this is definitely the book for you.
