Google Chrome Double Typing Characters

Do you own a large oaf like feline? Has it just sauntered on to your laptop and decided to sleep on the keyboard, despite you being midway through typing something? Then you may be suffering from a case of AnoyingOaflikeCat-itis.
A tail as old as time, my cat Hagrid decided it was a good moment to interupt me checking a SQL backup log to have a sleep on my laptop keyboard, of course first he prodded every key before settling into position.
Windows were closing, tabs were dissapearing and jeebus only knows what combinations of keys he has pressed. After managing to actually put the laptop into sleep mode (which is impressive) as though he wanted a nap partner, i evacuated him and turned back on.
Initially i assumed he had enabled sticky keys, but no only in Chrome was this occuring.
I had to revert to a different browser to try and resolve it, i couldnt find any setting or relevant info online except for the extreme measure of resetting chrome which i didnt want to do. I opted for a reboot and i am pleased to say normal service has been resumed.
I have taken the oppurtunity to post this as i am really struggling for content.
Seems to be specific to Chrome and ccaattss: https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/5ac0wm/suddenly_my_keyboard_is_entering_double_letters/
